Context
After the pandemic, many academies shifted to online learning platforms such as Zoom and YouTube. During this transition, academy owners wanted a convenient way to collect tuition payments online instead of relying solely on in-person transactions.
This required the rapid design and launch of an MVP online payment system a solution that could meet immediate needs while also laying the foundation for a future student management platform.
Problem & Insight
-
Tuition payments were still being handled offline, in person, which caused inefficiencies for both students and academy staff.
-
Lack of an online payment system meant missed payments, manual tracking, and unnecessary friction for parents and students.
-
Academy owners needed a flexible, scalable solution that could also support broader student management in the future.
Design Process
Created user flows for students, parents, and academy admins.
Iterations:
-
Simplified the payment process into three steps: Select class → Enter payment details → Receive confirmation.
-
Added payment history and receipts dashboard for both admins and parents.
-
Ensured security by collaborating with developers on encrypted transactions
